2021 Annual General Meeting - 30/01/2021
2021 was a trying year for us all once again thanks to COVID. Luckily only one event was cancelled, unfortunately it was our Quiz night which is our annual fundraiser. Let's hope 2022 is a better year for everyone.
As has happened in the past, APEC held a variety of events, including Find the Jolly Joker Trail Ride, Dressage with Anne Smith, Poles, Grids and Flatwork, Games Day, Barrels, our annual Slack Hack, and our annual Camp (this year held back at Mt Crawford)
Participants at the Come and Try Barrels were very fortunate to benefit from the knowledge and experience of Wendy Hill and Shane Fulcher, and we sincerely thank them for their assistance and guidance. We would also like to thank Lucy Williams and Anne Smith for their instruction. Once again, we held open arena days for Members during the year and plan to continue to have these throughout next year.
Overall, our events have been well attended by members and casual participants. Despite the issues with COVID, our 2021 Membership numbers increased significantly to the 80’s (81 to be exact). These are really encouraging numbers and I look forward to seeing continued interest in the year ahead.
Our club has really benefitted from having Andrew Maddison on committee first as our “maintenance guy” and also as our Vice President. Andrew is absolutely amazing, even if he doesn’t think so, and I would like to make special mention of how much we appreciate him and all he does. He actually does too much!! He has established the lovely garden beds, partially enclosed our verandah and so many more projects that I would be here for half an hour to list them all.
I also want to thank all the ladies on committee for all you do. You are all wonderful and it has been a pleasure spending time with you all. There is nothing more satisfying than us all pitching in as a team to run an event, and members loving their event and the atmosphere of the club.
